Master Bath Oasis

Melt Away the Stress of the Day

Howard County Master Bath

This Master Bath renovation began with an assessment of how this busy couple used their space. They both preferred taking a shower over a bath.

Both were concerned what would happen to the resale value of their home if their never used bath tub was removed. We confirmed with trusted real estate professionals that this would be a good decision provided another tub is available preferably on the same floor.

We removed an existing linen closet that was not functioning very well and utilized the wall cabinet towers instead which improved access exponentially.

The inspiration for the design and color scheme is the granite countertop which is very dramatic with contrasts of light and dark veining. To keep the Master Bath light and airy with a beautiful sophistication we chose light colored cabinetry with a vertical striation that lifted the eye upward, artisan glass fronts, and beaded detailing. The countertop is curved at the sink area to soften the straight lines and add visual interest to their long sink wall.

The shower was enlarged, redesigned, and relocated to the other side of the Master Bath. Tile with soft subtle vertical lines were selected for the shower along with a lightly shimmered accent tile that mimics the movement of water. This shimmery tile was repeated in the sink area to create a work of art between the sconces and mirrors. The Master Bath oasis is a welcome retreat after a long, stressful day and a great beginning to the start of a busy day!
